The Basics
Think of this as a list of important vocabulary terms in the world of EF Tours. C'mon teachers...you know you love a good vocab list!

Group Leader. That's you! You (and I) will henceforth be known as a Group Leader. Teachers who lead a tour with EF Tours are known as Group Leaders. Wear that title proudly! :)
Tour Consultant. This is your EF Representative, you've already met them! Your Tour Consultant is a great resource for preparing for your tour. They work with lots of teachers just like you, and have traveled on tours too. Don't hesitate to communicate your needs to your TC. Let them know the best time of day to call you, and you can also keep in touch via e-mail. Your TC works hard to make sure that you have the best tour possible, so show them some love and call them soon!
Global Education Ambassador. This is an experienced group leader who lives in your area, and is available to help with your tour planning needs. Global Education Ambassadors are teachers just like you, that have led many EF Tours. They are available to attend your recruitment meeting and answer parent questions, or talk one-on-one with you about your tour planning needs. Ask your Tour Consultant about the GEA nearest you.
Group Leader Website. When you set up a tour with EF Tours, you will be given an online account. This should be your lifeline for staying updated on tour details. Everything you need is here! Be sure to check it often to stay up-to-date on your tour! Go on...click here to log in! Don't know how to log in? Talk to your Tour Consultant.
Requested Departure Dates. Talk with your Tour Consultant about how this works. Here are the basics: The departure date that you set up are requested up until the tour is actually confirmed. Please make sure that this is clear with your group from day one! Make sure that the date you set is flexible, as you could leave a few days earlier or later than requested. In ten tours, this has never been a problem. As long as the group knows how it works, they can keep that in mind when booking other activities before or after your tour.
Consolidated Tour. If you do not have a group big enough to fill up a tour bus (around 45 people), your group will be consolidated with other groups traveling on the same tour at the same time. You will share a bus, a TD, stay at the same hotel and share meals with the other group(s) that you are consolidated with. This is such a great opportunity for your students to meet other students from the US and share the travel experience with their new friends. Again, let your group know about this from the start (unless you have a large group), so that you have set the expectation for them.
Tour Director. This is the fabulous person who is responsible for every logistical detail of your EF Tour. They are an integral part of your tour, and will be the guide to your destination. You should hear from your TD, via e-mail, before your tour. Be sure to communicate with them about your group and your expectations for tour. They will meet you at the airport with an EF sign, and usher you off to one of the best experiences of your lifetime!
